A Raisin in the Sun
A Raisin in the Sun , a highly acclaimed classic play, tells the story of a lower-class black family's struggle to gain middle-class acceptance. When the play opens, Mama, the sixty-year-old mother of the family, is waiting for a $10,000 insurance check from the death of her husband, and the drama will focus primarily on how the $10,000 should be spent. Son Walter Lee wants to invest in a liquor store, but Mama opposes that idea on moral grounds and wants to move out of their overcrowded apartment and into a house. Drama ensues when Walter invests with a friend.

Antigone
By Jean Cocteau
It is an avant-guard look at the world's first female protagonist. Based entirely on the Greek tragedian Sophocles' play written in the 5th century BC. The play is not only a feminist cry for justice but also brings to light the age old question who's law should we follow, Man's or God's. The tragic spirit given to Sophocles' play is also found in Cocteau's Antigone, along with all the characters as described in all their insidious evil.
