Open call for "Pirates at Union Station

OPEN CALL FOR ACTORS TO PORTRAY PIRATES FEATURED
IN UNION STATION'S NEXT TRAVELING EXHIBIT
REAL PIRATES – A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION
Sunday, May 5, 2013
WHAT:
Union Station Kansas City is hiring adult actors to portray characters related to the real history of pirates in conjunction with a national exhibit scheduled to open in late June, 2013. Some actors will be needed for appearances beginning in late May, 2013. Organized by National Geographic, the exhibit titled, Real Pirates, includes the restored remains of the Whydah ship, one of the most successful pirate ships of the 18th century. It was the flagship of legendary pirate Sam Bellamy's flotilla that raided ships throughout the waters of the Caribbean and up the Atlantic coastline. It sank during a Nor'easter storm in 1717, and was discovered off the coast of Cape Cod, MA, in 1984.
Actors portraying the pirates featured in the exhibit will be needed to work in the exhibit from late June through the first week of January, and these auditions are to find the best actors for the pirate characters.
Actors should prepare a 1-minute audition monologue and bring their resume and photo. The monologue may be pirate-related, but that is not a requirement. Pirate costuming for the audition is also permitted, but not required. No weapons, please.
An online audition form is available at: https://uskc.wufoo.com/forms/pirate-auditions/
Actors may also complete the audition form at Union Station on the audition day. Those who pre-register to audition will be seen first that day.
For more information, call Charlie Frank at 816-460-2026.
WHEN:
The open auditions for these roles will be Sunday, May 5th from 11 am to 3 pm
WHERE:
Union Station Kansas City, 30 W. Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108
Auditions will be held in Sprint Festival Plaza, the main hall inside of Union Station. Actors will audition on a first-come, first-serve basis. Actors who pre-register to audition will be added into the cue line for their audition before those who did not pre-register, but come that day.
