Titanic Departing Soon!

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition Surpasses 100,000 Visitors!
Titanic hosted its 100,000th visitor last week at Union Station! Congratulations to Theresa Eggeling and her kids, Shon and Jordan! Theresa is a school teacher and had been studying Titanic with her kids. During a roadtrip from Minnesota to Austin she stopped in Kansas City upon family recommendation to check it out! You can hear them describe what they liked about the exhibit in this video. If you are a teacher or just love education, don't miss our educational guides covering Titanic!
There is just a few more weeks to experience this historic exhibit. See Titianic before it sets sail on September 9!

Voting is open for the KC Visitors' Choice Awards. Be sure to vote for Union Station as your "Favorite Landmark/Monument" and for Celebration at the Station as your "Favorite Music Festival/Event" by Friday, August 24.

New Exhibit at Union Station: Visions of Mexican Art
The Kansas City Museum, with the support of the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, is proud to bring the exhibition Visiones del Arte Mexicano/Visions of Mexican Art to Union Station Kansas City, September 15 through November 11, 2012.
The art exhibit features paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs from 53 of Mexico's most renowned artists, including Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo, Jose Luis Cuevas and Graciela Iturbide.
The Museum is honored to partner with Expo Americas that runs from September 15-16. People attending Expo Americas will get a sneak peek of the exhibit before it opens to the general public September 18 in the Power and Light Gallery at Union Station.
The exhibit is FREE and open to the public!
Exhibit hours: Tuesday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays

Local Actors Perform "The Mousetrap" at Union Station

Kansas City Actors Theatre is staging Agatha Christie's quintessentially English stage mystery, "The Mousetrap." Running from August 8 - August 26, at H&R Block City Stage Theater at Union Station Kansas City.

In partnership with the Eva Reynolds Fine Arts Gallery, Parisi Café brings the works of Martha Sporek "Miryam" to Union Station.
Miryam's work features people she observes in everyday life. Their mysterious personalities, involved characteristics, unconventional and inexplicable behaviors are her inspiration.
Visit the café anytime Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. or Sat-Sun 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. for some art from the cup and art on display

Donate New Socks to the City Union Mission

Walt Disney Studios has partnered with Hanes, who is collaborating with the City Union Mission, to launch "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" Sock Drive.
Union Station Kansas City is proud to take part in this event and is asking visitors to bring new pairs of socks to the drop-off location at the Grand Hall Information Booth.
Hanes will be standing by to match donations up to 10,000 pairs of socks. The Union City Mission will distribute the socks to the families they aid.
