In this high stakes and emotionally powerful political drama, two leading candidates are competing to get their political party's presidential nomination, but both have potentially fatal vulnerabilities - checkered pasts and nervous breakdowns. Neither can stand one another, and both are vying for the crucial support of the dying former president, who is lukewarm on both candidates. This show is a delicious, character-focused look at the excitement and mud-slinging that goes on behind the scenes in an election year.

NOTE: Ages listed do not necessarily refer to actual ages of actors - but actors must be able to convincingly play a character of that age.

B. Russell, M/F, age 35+, presidential candidate, a principled intellectual with a failing marriage and a past history of mental instability.

J. Cantwell, M/F, age 35+, presidential candidate, patriotic, power hungry ruthless opportunist, willing to do anything to get the nomination.

Arthur Hockstader, M, age 50+, ailing former president, pragmatic and tough as nails.

A. Russell, M/F, age 35+, B. Russell's spouse, obsessed with hiding troubled marriage for the good of the campaign.

M. Cantwell, M/F, age 35+, attractive, somewhat vapid, typically supportive spouse.

Jensen, M/F, age 30+, campaign manager

Blades, M/F, age 30+, campaign manager
