EXPECTATION and PREPARATION:

Please prepare up to 32 bars of a song in the style of one of the following: Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber, or Kander and Ebb to showcase your vocal range and in your key. Surely, you can sing any initial audition piece, but we would like to hear a song from the composers listed above. In either case, your audition piece should be completely memorized and please have a copy for the accompanist (whom will be provided) with your vocal part highlighted.


No A Cappella singing or music from a device (i.e. CD, I-POD, MP3, etc.)


Please, try to be familiar with the concept of the show, the characters and the music from the show; the more you are prepared, the better chances you have to get a role.


Possible short dance combo may be taught, so wear proper clothes.



Please Provide:

Headshot/Resume (if available) and a list of conflicts (including holidays and vacations) between January 4 and March 1, 2015. No conflicts after February 2 accepted.


CALLBACKS:

Invited Callbacks, Monday November 10, 7:00-10:00pm


REHEARSAL:

Sunday-Thursday 7-10pm starting January 4, 2015. Weekend rehearsal possible with ample notice.


PRODUCTION DATES:

February 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, March 1, 2015

Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm

Sundays at 2:00pm

SYNOPSIS:

One story becomes five delightful musicals in this homage to some of Broadway's greatest composers. The timeless tale of the ingenue who can't pay her rent, the evil landlord, the heroic boyfriend and the friendly neighbor woman in the styles of Rodgers & Hammerstein (Oklahoma, Sound of Music), Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods, Company), Jerry Herman (Mame, Hello Dolly), Andrew Lloyd Webber (Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar) and Kander & Ebb (Chicago, Cabaret).
Come and get a taste of five shows ingeniously rolled into one.



CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

JUNE (the ingenue): Female, late teens-late 20's-sings/acts in the styles of Laurie (Oklahoma) and Julie (Carousel); Amy (Company) and Joanna (Sweeney Todd); Minnie Fae (Hello, Dolly) and Agnes (Mame); Eva (Evita); Sally (Cabaret).

ABBY (the matron): Female, late 30's-mid 60's-sings/acts in the styles of Aunt Eller (Oklahoma) & Nettie (Carousel); Joanne (Company); Dolly & Mame; Norma Desmond (Sunset Blvd); Lotte Lenya (Cabaret).

WILLY (the hero): Male 20's-late 30's-sings/acts in the styles of Curly (Oklahoma) & Billy (Carousel); Patrick (Mame); Che (Evita); and various leading men in Sondheim, & Kander/Ebb shows.

JITTER (the villain): Male late 30's-mid 50's-doubles as on-stage pianist-sings/acts in styles of Jud (Oklahoma); Sweeney; Albin (La Cage aux Folles); The Phantom; Emcee (Cabaret).
