Open Call Auditions for The Drowsy Chaperone

River City Community Players announce a call for open auditions for The Drowsy Chaperone.

Music and Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison; Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar
Auditions will be held June 3-5; 7 p.m. at The Leavenworth Performing Arts Center, 500 Delaware St, Leavenworth, KS

Directed by Tisha M. Entwistle.

Prepare 32 bars of a Broadway style selection in your vocal range . Make sure it is completely memorized and you have a copy for the accompanist with your vocal part highlighted. NO ACCAPELLA singing. No music from a device. Cold readings from the script.

A rare combination of originality and blinding talent, boldly addresses a great unspoken desire in our hearts: to be entertained. Have you ever sat in a dark theater and thought, "Dear Lord, please let it be good," this is the show for you! It begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable and the musical literally bursts to life in his living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find and keep her true love.

Performances will be July 26, 27; August 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. with an August 4, 2 p.m. matinee.
