Coterie Theatre to Hold Open Casting Call for Youth 11-17

Young Adults Needed for Select Coterie Shows

WHAT: Open Call Audition for young adult performers ages 11-17 who are seeking professional acting apprenticeships for selected plays in the Coterie Theatre's season. Productions with youth apprenticeship roles (acting alongside adult professionals) will be Lyle the Crocodile, The Wiz, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

WHEN: Either 5 p.m. Mon., March 11, 2013 or 5 p.m. Mon., March 18, 2013

WHERE: Coterie Theatre, level one Crown Center Shops, 2450 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri

WHO: Youth must be currently 11 years old (no younger) to attend this call. Teens 18 years and older may make an appointment for the adult auditions held in May. Check Coterie website for details: www.coterietheatre.org.

OTHER: Auditioning youth need to prepare a memorized monologue, approximately 1 to 2 minutes in length, no longer, of a character close to his or her age. Have America the Beautiful prepared to sing acapella (without accompaniment). No poetry or Shakespeare. The auditions are first come/first served with no appointments being taken. In addition, students are asked to bring a resume and a photograph of themselves (school photos may be used).
