Music Theatre for Young People of Kansas City will be holding
auditions for its 2013 Spring Break Show: "Little Shop of Horrors"

MTYP will be holding auditions for its annual spring break
show, "Little Shop of Horrors," on Sunday, February 24th at Union
Station. Vocal auditions will be from 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm. There will
be a required dance call at 5:00 pm followed by callbacks at 6:00
pm. For the vocal audition, please prepare a 16-bar selection and
bring your sheet music. Ages 13-18 are eligible to audition.

"Little Shop of Horrors" will be directed by Cary Danielson,
choreographed by MTYP Alumni and NYC choreographer Roy
Lightner, and will be music directed by Julie Danielson, MTYP's
Artistic and Resident Music Director. The performances will be
Saturday, March 23rd and Sunday, March 24th at the Saints Theatre
in St. Thomas Aquinas.

One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time,
"Little Shop of Horrors" tells the story of how a down-and out skid
row floral assistant, Seymour, becomes an overnight sensation
when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for
fresh blood. Soon "Audrey II" grows into an ill-tempered, foul-
mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune
in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself
to be an alien creature poised for global domination!

8156.
