Loves Labours Lost Auditions by William Shakespeare: Mar 7&14:
10 am, 1 pm Sat
This is one of Shakespeare's earliest comedies, probably written
in 1580s. It may have been first performed in 1588. It was
certainly performed in 1597.The play tells the tale of the King of
Navarre and his three friends who swear off of women for one
year.
Except the Princess of France and her three friends come on a
diplomatic mission.
What to do?
Also, the play spoofs the academics, the Spanish, the local
constable, and the country lads and lasses.
It is a play about love (at least 5 couples) which sets men's wits
against women's.
Directed by Dr. Susan Proctor . There are 16 named characters,
6 men, 5 women, and 5 can be either. ,
Another character in this play is definitely language. The king
and his, friends all write a bit of poetry, some better than others.
For auditions, I would like to hear you read and perhaps dance a
bit. If , you want to prepare ahead of time, I will leave some
books at Alcott Arts that you can peruse to find out about the
characters and maybe, some of the language.,
