Leawood Stage Company to Hold Auditions for "Oliver"
Calling all actors, singers and dancers!
The Leawood Stage Company will hold auditions for the classic Broadway musical, Oliver on Saturday, February 28th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and
Sunday, March 1st from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Oak Room on the lower level of Leawood City Hall. Auditioners should enter through the north doors
of the building. Audition applications will be accepted 30 minutes prior to the end of each time period.
We request that anyone under the age of 15 attend auditions on Saturday afternoon from Noon to 4:00 pm.Call backs will be held by invitation only the evening of Sunday, March 1st in the same location.
Everyone auditioning must prepare 16 measures of a song from a musical. Please bring sheet music in your key as an accompanist will be provided. All auditioners should also be prepared to participate in a short dance/movement audition: comfortable dress and shoes are suggested. Bring a photo and resume if available. No appointment time is necessary as auditions
are first come, first served. Audition forms may be filled out in advance by downloading the form from www.leawoodstageco.org.
If you cannot attend auditions, video or YouTube auditions will be accepted. Please contact April Bishop prior to the audition weekend to make arrangements.
We encourage performers of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, ability levels, and experience to audition. Leawood Stage Company has focused on family fun for 17 years and we encourage you to be part of this fabulous community theatre experience. Oliver features great roles for boys & girls, teens and adults.
The Leawood Stage Company will present this classic Tony-award-winning musical July 16, 17, 18, 19 & 23, 24, 25 at the Ironwoods Amphitheater in Ironwoods Park.
Based on the Dickens novel, Oliver will engage audiences with its drama of sadness and new hope for the orphan Oliver Twist as he navigates the streets of London. Everyone will be delighted with its outstanding musical numbers including Food, Glorious Food, I'd Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Who Will Buy which are all musical theatre classics.

Leawood Stage Company is pleased to welcome the directing team of Seth McClintock and David Shook for the first time.
Rehearsals will begin May 31st and will run Sunday through Thursday evenings at the Lodge in Ironwoods Park. No conflicts will be accepted
following July 4th.
