AUDITIONS (by appointment):
September 19th from Noon to 4pm
September 20th from 5pm – 7pm
(Walk-up auditions will be accepted up to 2:00pm on the 19th and up to 6:00pm on the 20th.)
At St. Pius Church
55th and Woodson, Mission, KS


EXPECTATION and PREPARATION:
Those auditioning should prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre/pop style song. Please do not wear Orange to auditions, "because whoever said Orange is the new Pink is seriously…disturbed."
Those that have previously performed in shows with production staff may contact Director in lieu of scheduling initial audition.

Invited Callbacks will be held on September 26th from Noon - 4pm Callback List and Sides will be posted on www.thebarnplayers.org by 9:00am on September 21st.

Callbacks will consist of Singing, Dancing, and Readings for named characters. Most roles will be called back to sing and dance. Those called back are asked to wear all black and be prepared to be measured by our costumer.
Rehearsals will be from January 10th - February 25th.

The Family will have a promotional photo shoot in December 2015. Full cast will have an all-day on location photo shoot followed by rehearsal on one of the Sunday rehearsal dates.
Cast must also be available on Saturday January 30th for promotional performance at The Barney Awards.

No conflicts will be accepted after Sunday February 14, 2016.


PRODUCTION DATES:
February 26th – March 13th, 2016
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm
Sundays at 2:00pm
Industry Night is Monday, March 7th.

SYNOPSIS:
Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law. At school, she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner Huntington. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world



CAST BREAKDOWN:
We are looking for a multi-racial, high-energy cast of performers for this new staging of a modern favorite!


ELLE WOODS The quintessential Valley Girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more to offer than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality. This production is very interested in ALL ethnicities auditioning for this role.
Female, 18-25 yrs old
Range: Gb2 – G5

EMMETT FORREST A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly
Male, 20-25 yrs old
Range: B2 – A4

PAULETTE A brash, caring, optimistic hair stylist who is friends with Elle and longs to find a man for herself.
Female, 45-60 yrs old
Range: Bb3 - A5

PROFESSOR CALLAHAN A pompous, sleezy and manipulative law professor at Harvard who is highly successful, but completely immoral.
Male, 40-55 yrs old
Range: A2 – F#4

WARNER HUNTINGTON III A good-looking but shallow and pompous guy who breaks Elle's heart and heads off to Harvard Law. - Male, 20-25 yrs old
Range: Eb3 – Ab4

VIVIENNE KENSINGTON A smart, savvy, and uptight law student and Warner's fiancee who initially dismisses Elle, but grows to be her friend
Female, 20-25 yrs old
Range: A3 – F5

BROOKE WYNDAM An exercise video mogul who is also a former sorority girl. She is energetic and charismatic, yet currently on trial for murder
Female, 25-35 yrs old
Range: A3 – G5

BRUISER WOODS "Bruiser's not a dog. Bruiser's family." Looking for a small dog to be a part of this wonderful production. All teacup breeds, as well as the classic Chihuahua, are welcome to send in a picture!
Range: Bark3 – Ruff5

ADULT ENSEMBLE Looking for one (1) male and one (1) female to represent ALL ensemble roles. This will include many quick costume changes and ability to portray multiple characters (a la Hairspray, Little Shop, Spring Awakening, etc.) Roles include Elle's Parents, Hair Affair Workers, Judge, Prison Guard, Harvard Law Board Members, and more.

ENSEMBLE Looking for an extremely strong ensemble of triple threat singer/dancer/actors to fill the many character we meet throughout the production. All ensemble members will have some feature whether it be a dance solo, sung solo, or speaking line. All ensemble members will adhere to a vigorous track of characters including Greek Chorus, Deltu Nu Sorority Members, California Students, and Harvard Law Students. Serena, Margot, and Pilar (lead Delta Nus) will be cast from this group.
