BERNSTEIN'S BROADWAY returns to KC

*** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***
MUSICAL THEATER HERITAGE PRESENTS…
BERNSTEIN'S BROADWAY
OFF CENTER THEATRE – CROWN CENTER

March 27 – April 13
Musical Theater Heritage is bringing back their original review about the life of Leonard Bernstein and the fabulous music he wrote for the Broadway stage.

Written by MTH's Executive Director and Broadway historian, George Harter, and MTH's Artistic Director, Sarah Crawford, Bernstein's Broadway is a show celebrating
Leonard Bernstein's rarely-heard, music from West Side Story, On the Town, Candide, and Wonderful Town.

"Other than West Side Story, the musicals by Leonard Bernstein are seldom produced. There is some fabulous music in On The Town, for example that is never heard
today; in songs such as "Lucky to be Me", "Some Other Time" and "Lonely Town". On The Town in 1944 is especially historic, in that Bernstein's music expressed the
American Musical in symphonic terms for the first time". ~ George Harter.

Bernstein's Broadway was the first production by MTH at Crown Center's new, Off Center Theatre 2008, but it ran for only 8 performances. Since then, the MTH audience
has grown from 3,200 people per year to nearly 10,000, so now Bernstein's Broadway will run for 15 performances this time.
"We've had many of our long-time subscribers asking to bring it back. So we decided it was time to give our newest subscribers an opportunity to see this wonderful
production. We are very proud of it." says MTH Executive Producer, Chad Gerlt.

This year's production is again hosted and narrated by George Harter, with a cast of 15 comprising of Alison Sneegas Borberg, American Tenor, Ben Gulley, Stefanie
Wienecke, Jacob Aaron Cullum, Justin McCoy, Megan Herrera, Linnaia McKenzie, Megan Horsman, Kami Rodgers, Robert Hingula, Tyler Eisenreich and Bob Wearing. On piano
will be Jeremy Watson, with Brian Wilson; bass, and Tod Barnard; drums.

"I think our audience is going to be absolutely blown away by our cast and the powerful, moving, music that Leonard Bernstein has created. We are thrilled to bring it
back." says Artistic Director, Sarah Crawford.

MTH had a clever photo shoot the other day, where the cast took "vintage" press photos with the late Leonard Bernstein. Those photos are available in high-rez on the
Musical Theater Heritage facebook page.
