Mystery and Intrigue hits Kansas City

The first round of auditions has been amazing! We are offering extended auditions this Saturday for people who were unable to attend or schedule an appointment. We've been seeing people back-to-back and the talent has been some of the best I've seen.

Merry BanD Productions, LLC., a Kansas City-based company specializing in video production and stunt services, is preparing to shoot their debut feature film, an original story inspired by the Cold War spy films of the 60s. It's a little of the original Bond, (James Bond), Harry Palmer, Derek Flint and Matt Helm, updated to a modern setting.

The story, co-authored by Richard Buswell, Alex Paxton and Jonathan Love, is filled with enough twists, turns and reversals that will keep audiences guessing until the final moments of the film.

Reactions among readers of the script have been consistent with comments like,
• "I kept wondering what's going to happen next?" and
• "I couldn't put it down," or "I kept trying to put it down, but I kept having to pick it up again," and
• "I thought I knew how it was going to end. I was wrong," and
• "I'm the type of person who can tell in the first ten minutes where the story is going. I couldn't do that with this script."

Directed by Richard Buswell. The spy thriller, "Order 86" is currently in preproduction with shooting scheduled to start in late February.

Auditions for cast are scheduled as follows:
• January 30, 10-1pm, Westport Branch Library at 118 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111

Callbacks will be scheduled for February 1 and 2.

They are looking for men and women to fill over 45 roles. This is a locally-produced feature film and we are offering deferred payment for all participants. Auditioners should bring a resume, a headshot, and prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary dramatic monologue. There will also be cold readings from the script. Email info@order86movie.com to schedule a time. Walk-ins are also welcome, but will have to wait for available openings in the schedule.

Anyone interested in doing some simple stunt work should also apply. Again, email info@order86movie.com to schedule an interview.

Shooting is tentatively scheduled to start the last week of February and will run through the end of June. Mostly weekends and some weekday evenings.
