Call for Directors

Call for Directors
2016 Season

Summit Theatre Group issues a call for
applications from potential directors for the 5-
Show 2016 season. Directors are encouraged to
submit 1 to 3 different proposals for shows next
year. The Show Selection Team has decided the
general guidelines below for each production, but
directors are free to propose titles and concepts
for each date.

#1--Date: March 11, 12, 18, 19 & 20, 2016
DESCRIPTION: A small to medium size cast non-
musical comedy that can be performed with
limited scenic requirements in a small
LOCATION: MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center

#2--Date: June 17, 18, 24, 25 & 26, 2016
TYPE OF PRODUCTION: Small scale musical or revue
DESCRIPTION: A small cast show that can be
produced with limited scenic requirements.
Combo sized accompaniment. STG prefers
live accompaniment
LOCATION: MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center

#3--Date : August 18, 19 & 20, 2016
TYPE OF PRODUCTION: Large outdoor Musical
DESCRIPTION: A large cast family-friendly
musical that will fill an outdoor stage. Full
preferred over canned accompaniment.

#4--Date: October 7, 8, 14, 15 & 16, 2016
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium size cast size
drama about a serious social issue. We would
like to partner with a non-profit organization
to support their work.

#5--Date: December 1, 2, 3, 4, 2016
TYPE OF PRODUCTION: Winter/Christmas
Dinner Theatre Play or Small Musical
DESCRIPTION: A play or small musical with
a winter or holiday theme with very limited
scenic and technical requirements. We will
consider proposals for a holiday revue as well.
LOCATION: A LOCATION that can serve a high
quality dinner and still provide a small
performance space. For 2015 STG is using
Longview Mansion.

Application should include:
Tentative Decision Schedule:

1. Letter of Interest
Application Due: June 30, 2015
2. Resume with special attention to directing
experience Interviews Scheduled:
Late July, 2015
3. Proposal including title and production concept
Directors notified: August, 2015
4. Potential creative staff, if decided.
