MeltingPot KC is proud to announce their upcoming
theatrical production of "The Frowning Vajayjays
of Shady Pines" written by Kansas City playwright,
Vicki Vodrey, and presented at Just Off Broadway
Theatre. The play will premiere on Friday, March
21, 7:30pm and run through April 6, 2014.

"Walkers and wheelchairs may be the norm; funerals
may be commonplace. But that doesn't get Lila,
Marilyn and Peggy down, three of the southern
belles that live at Shady Pines Retirement Home.
Normally quite happy playing bridge, attending
Bingo games and flirting with their physical
therapist, the ladies get along until thrown a
curve ball – Lila's assignment of the new
roommate, Bertie Wright. Suddenly, Bertie, who is
African-American, throws a little more color into
a mostly all white retirement home – in more ways
than one. If you're thinking 'old dogs can't learn
new tricks' – think again!"

Directed by Harvey Williams, "The Frowning
Vajayjays of Shady Pines" features the cast of
Nancy Marcy, Sherri Roulette-Mosley, Petra Allen,
Cindy Siefers and Jeff Smith.

Vicki Vodrey's play "Hanky Panky" – which was part
of the 12th annual MITF – was nominated for three
MITF awards - Outstanding New Play, Outstanding
Productions of a Play, and Outstanding Ensemble.
It was a top-rated play at the 2010 KC Fringe
Festival and placed in the top ten in the TRU
Voices Playwriting Competition that same year.
"Thank You Notes: Headed To Heaven W/ Flat Jimmy
Fallon" was nominated at the MITF in 2012 for five
awards – Outstanding Play, Outstanding Director,
Outstanding Lead Actress, Outstanding Supporting
Actor and Outstanding Set Design and garnered
numerous wonderful reviews. Her play "Trembles"
was a winner of the Gorilla Theatre Playwriting
Competition in 2000 and was also produced as a
fundraising event for KC Hospice. She is the owner
of Lot In Life Productions, LLC.
