PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGES IN AUDITION EXPECTATIONS.

Osage County

By Tracy Letts

Directed by Darren Sextro

OPEN CALL AUDITIONS:
Monday, February 10th from 6pm – 10pm

Callbacks by invitation only:
Saturday, February 15th from 10am – 2pm

At St. Pius School / 55th and Woodson, Mission, KS.

EXPECTATION and PREPARATION:
Prepare: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Before the open call auditions, each auditioner should read the play and familiarize themselves with the materials for the primary role that interests her or him.
Bring: Resume and headshot. Bring all known conflicts from April 14 through the June production dates.
We anticipate 4-5 weeks of rehearsal plus one week of technical rehearsal for this production. The rehearsal period will be brisk and will require great preparedness from the cast. Actors cast should be willing to arrive at the first rehearsal with a very clear understanding of the dialogue, their roles, and a head start on memorization of lines.

Additional Notes: Cast members are required to assist with strike on June 15th, and cast members may be asked to assist with costume pieces.

PRODUCTION DATES:
May 30th – June 15th
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm
Sundays at 2:00pm

All performances take place at
The Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission, KS

SYNOPSIS: A vanished father. A pill-popping mother. Three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. Mix in Violet, the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, and you've got a major new play that unflinchingly—and uproariously—exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize.

ACCENTS! Most characters in this story either live in or are from northern Oklahoma and should speak with an appropriate dialect. (You can find help at dialectsarchive.com.) If you feel more comfortable auditioning without an accent, that's fine, but you will need to learn an accent if you are cast.
