AUDITIONS:
Saturday, November 19th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm
at St. Pius School, 55th and Woodson, Mission, KS


EXPECTATION and PREPARATION:
• Auditions will be an open call both days, and will
consist of singing a prepared 32 bar selection of a
musical theatre song in the style of the show.
• There will also be a movement audition so please
wear the proper attire.
• Please Provide: Sheet Music...no CDs & NO
ACAPPELLA auditions | Headshot/Resume (if available)
• Invited Callbacks will be held on Saturday, December
3rd from 1:00 -5:00pm at a location to be determined. If
you are auditioning, please make sure to clear your
schedule that day, as callbacks are critical to putting
together the strongest ensemble for this ensemble piece.
You will be notified by email if you are invited to
callbacks.
• If you have worked with this Director or Musical
Director before there is no need to come to the open call.

• Rehearsals will begin March 12th. Typical weekly
rehearsal schedule will be Sunday afternoons 1:00p to
5:00p and Monday through Thursday nights from 6:30pm
– 10pm. Rehearsals the last 2 weeks may go past
10:00pm, but staff will be respectful of your time and get
you out as close to 10:00pm as possible. Tech rehearsal
on Sunday, April 16th will be 1:00p to 6:00p. Conflicts
with the rehearsal schedule must be kept to an absolute
minimum during the rehearsal process. No conflicts will
be accepted during dress / tech week without prior
approval from the director. The Music Director may try to
schedule some individual rehearsals with principals prior
to March 12th.



PRODUCTION DATES:
April 21st – May 7th, 2017
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm & Sundays at 2:00pm
Industry Night Performance Monday, May 1st @ 7:30pm

All performances take place at The Barn Players Theatre,
6219 Martway in Mission, KS

SYNOPSIS:
Set in a 1930's European perfumery, we meet shop clerks
Amalia and Georg, who more often than not, don't see
eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts
advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the
love letters they exchange, but the identity of their
admirers remains unknown. Discover with Amalia and
Georg the identity of their true loves and all the twists
and turns along the way!

CAST BREAKDOWN:
• ARPAD LASZLO – Delivery boy at Maraczek's
Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment
to his job remarkable. He is ambitious and adorable. –
Age: 15-20; Vocal Range: Bb2-E4
• LADISLAV SIPOS – Not the brightest employee at
Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an
optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father. –
Age 45-55; Vocal Range; A2-E4
• ILONA RITTER – Employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie.
She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but
longing for something more from the game of love. – Age
25-40; Vocal Range; F#3-E5
• STEVEN KODALY – A well respected and liked
employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though he is
considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more
of a shallow womanizer. – Age: 25-40; Vocal Range: B2-
A4
• GEORG NOWACK – An established employee of
Maraczek's Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless
romantic. Shy, intelligent, and soft spoken. – Age: 25-40;
Vocal Range; B2-F4
• MR. MARACZEK – Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie.
With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade
is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife. – Age: 50-
65; Vocal Range; B2-C4
• AMALIA BALASH – The eager new employee at
Maraczek's Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled
saleswoman, she easily becomes intimated and nervous.
Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature. – Age: 25-40;
Vocal Range: C4-B5
• ENSEMBLE – Singing ensemble of 5 women and 5
men to play parfumerie customers, café patrons, café
staff, carolers and other roles. – All ages and types.
