The River City Community Players announce an open call for auditions for Into The Woods, Jr.; book by James Lapine; music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Directed by Jason Carlson.
Auditions will be August 10 & 11 at 7 p.m. at the Leavenworth Performing Arts Center, 500 Delaware St, Leavenworth, KS
Ages 9 - 18.
Come prepared to sing 32 bars from a song not from Into the Woods JR!, and prepared to perform cold readings from the script.
Also have a list a all know scheduling conflicts from August 10 through September 13.
The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as Sondheim and Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale adapted to one of Sondheim's popular works for young performers. Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack, the Witch and more meet in this whimsical story. The baker and his wife wish to have a child; Cinderella wishes to attend a festival; and Jack wishes his cow would give milk. The baker and his wife learn that they can't have a child due to a witch's curse, set off to break the curse and are changed forever.
