For Immediate Release

PerformOUTKC, Kansas City's LGBTQIA Choral &
Theatre arts program celebrates and opens its
6th season on January 24th with "Affirmation".
With rich originality, this thoroughly-
absorbing drama of storytelling by the young
artists of POKC explores and shares the many
facets that connect the struggles, obstacles
and positive enrichment that essentially
defines who they are as authentic, courageous
and affirming people. This exciting production
full of wit is the first full performance under
the direction of POKC's newest artistic
director, Tim Braselton.

Based in Kansas City, POKC is a 6-year old
community choral and theatre arts program
created for lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgendered, queer, intersex and allied
youth, ages 14-22. Our mission is to provide a
safe and inclusive atmosphere for youth of any
and all identities, fostering positive identity
development through excellence in music
performance and creative expression.

This season will feature two educational and
empowering productions, which to include
storytelling, original writing by the young
artists, traditional choral standards and some
new and exciting musical arrangements.
