Phoenix KC Theatre will present the Kansas City premiere of Gidion's Knot by Johnna Adams with 4 performances during the 2014 Kansas City Fringe Festival, July 17 - 27. Directed by Warren Deckert.
There are roles for 2 women (Equity or non-Equity):
-- Heather - late 20's to 30's; a 5th grade teacher
-- Corryn - 30's to mid 40's; mother of a 5th grade boy, a literature professor.
Cast members will receive a guaranteed performance wage.
Gidion's Knot was one of the highlights of the 2012 Contemporary American Theatre Festival. It is an intense 90-minute play with content that is dark and disturbing. Potential cast members are encouraged to email to request a pdf copy of the script for download prior to auditions.
Auditions will be scheduled by appointment only on Sunday, March 9 between 2:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 10:00 pm (15 minutes/actress). Auditions will be held at Just Off Broadway Theatre, 3051 Penn Valley Drive.
-- Prepare a 2 - 3 minute dramatic monologue. Actresses will also be asked to read from the script.
-- Current resume/headshot requested.
-- Bring a complete list of conflicts during the primary rehearsal/performance period of June 2 - July 27.
Phoenix KC Theatre has produced two previous Fringe Festival shows -- Natalie and Talia Liccardello's Ice Cream Social...Issues in 2012 and Bernice At Bay/The Butterfly Effect in 2013.
