Audio Stars Shine on Right Between the Ears

Audio stars will shine for a night of laughs
when the sketch comedy show Right Between
the Ears presents a live performance at the
2013 HearNOW Festival in Kansas City -
Saturday, June 22 at 8:00pm at UMKC's
Spencer Theatre. Studio audience tickets are

The HearNOW Festival is an audio equivalent of
a film festival for contemporary storytelling in
all its forms: classic radio theatre, audiobooks,
experimental narrative and more. The four-day
festival, June 20-23, will offer numerous live
and recorded performances at the Cinemark
Palace on the Plaza, the Tivoli Theatre and
other venues in Kansas City.

Joining the Right Between the Ears cast for this
special performance will be Phil Proctor, a
founding member of the legendary comedy
troupe The Firesign Theatre; and Barbara
Rosenblat, a star of Broadway, TV and
audiobooks.

Phil Proctor is a 45-year member of the thrice-
Grammy-nominated Firesign Theatre, featured
in such classic comedy albums as Don't Crush
That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers and I Think
We're All Bozos on This Bus. Phil's been
honored for his stage work by Theatre World,
L.A. Weekly, Drama Critics, Free Press and Back
Stage Magazine and has a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame for his role as Howard
in the 3-time Emmy-winning Rugrats. Phil has
played on-and-off Broadway, in regional
theatres throughout the U.S. and Canada, and
in Los Angeles at The Mark Taper Forum, South
Coast Rep, the Falcon Theatre and the Theatre
@ Boston Court, and is a 15-year member of
the prestigious Antaeus Classical Ensemble in
North Hollywood.

Phil's numerous film credits include the Dr.
Dolittle series, Finding Nemo, Toy Story and the
new black comedy Window of Opportunity. He
portrays the evil Dr. Vidic in the blockbuster
Assassin's Creed game and the Benefactor in
the hit series Arrow on CW, as well as
numerous roles in L. Ron Hubbard's Golden Age
of Pulp Fiction audio books and Blackstone's
Zorro and the Audie Award-winning Die Snow
White! Die, Damn You!.

Barbara Rosenblat is one of the most beloved
voice actors in the country with legions of fans
worldwide. In a distinguished body of work
that includes commercials, documentaries,
video games and animation, Barbara has
recorded well over 400 audiobooks in multiple
genres. She has won 8 Audie Awards for
superior narrations and earned over 40
Earphone Awards from Audiofile magazine who
named her both a 'Golden Voice' and 'Voice of
the Century'. Her nuanced characterizations let
one critic to write,"Barbara is to audiobooks
what Meryl Streep is to film".

On Broadway, Barbara created the role of Mrs.
Medlock in the Tony Award winning musical
The Secret Garden. She has performed off
Broadway and in London's West End. On TV,
Barbara has appeared on Law and Order SVU
and The Guiding Light. Most recently, she
appears as Ms. Rosa in the new Netflix series
Orange Is the New Black.

Right Between the Ears is a four-time winner of
the Gold Medal as Best Comedy Show at the
New York Festivals, and is broadcast every
week on Sirius-XM's Comedy Showcase. The
show also airs Sundays at 7:00pm on the
stations of Kansas Public Radio (91.5,
Lawrence; 89.7, Emporia; 91.3, Junction City;
99.5 Manhattan; and 90.3 Chanute). Cast
members for the June 22 performance include
Rhiannon Birdsall, Mary Ellen Kriegh, Andi
Meyer, Jim Moore, Kip Niven and Rick Tamblyn.
Darrell Brogdon is the show's creator and
producer.
