The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is looking for a few good actors. Start 2013 off on the right foot by attending auditions Jan. 2 - 4 beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday throught Friday.
The River City Community Players announce there will be an Open-Call for Auditions for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin.
Directed by MB Hurst.
Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.
The show is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime and creates the unlikeliest of heroes for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
Please prepare 32 bars of a Broadway style selection (nothing from Spelling Bee). An accompanist and CD player will be provided. NO ACCAPELLA singing, tapes, or USB plug-ins.
Bring a resume and a complete list of conflicts from January 8-March 9. A current headshot is welcome, but not required.
