Music Theatre for Young People of Kansas City will hold
auditions for its 2012 20th Anniversary Winter Show: Seussical

MTYP will hold auditions for its winter show, Seussical, on
November 18 at the KC Union Stage in Union Station. Vocal
auditions for ages 9-13 will begin at 12:00 p.m. Invited callbacks
will be at 1:30 p.m. Vocal auditions for ages 14-18 will begin at
3:00 p.m. with invited callbacks following at 6:00 p.m. Dance
auditions will be at callbacks only. Please bring comfortable
clothes.
For the vocal auditions, students must bring a prepared
selection of 16 bars from any contemporary musical theater
song. Sheet music will not be provided, though an accompanist
will be.
The performances will be December 29 at 7:00 p.m. and
December 30 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. If students are
accepted into the production, there will be a $195 performance
fee, which will be allocated to providing costumes, set and
musicians. Rehearsals will last one week prior to the
performances beginning on December 21, with no rehearsal on
the 24 or 25.
Seussical is a musical based on the books of Dr. Seuss. It is
a rather complex combination of his most famous characters and
stories.
