AUDITIONS:
Saturday, October 20th from 1:00 pm – 4:00pm
Sunday, October 21st from 1:00pm – 4:00pm
At St. Pius School
55th and Woodson, Mission, KS

EXPECTATION and PREPARATION:
Seeking a multi-ethnic cast of students in grades 7-12.

Auditions will be an open call both days, and will consist of singing a prepared 32-bar selection of a classic rock piece to show off that you can sing music in the style of Elvis! Tapes or CDs not allowed.

An accompanist will be provided. No auditions with a CD backing track will be allowed. A Capella auditions are discouraged, but not prohibited.

Please Provide: Sheet Music for you audition, and resumes are suggested, if available. Please bring a current photo—this can be a professional headshot, but a current school photo works just as well. Come dressed to move, as there will be a dance/movement exercise. Formal dance training is NOT a requirement! There may be cold readings from the script as well.

Rehearsals will begin with a cast and family meeting on Thursday, October 25th.
The typical weekly rehearsal schedule will be Sunday through Thursday night from 7 – 10pm. Conflicts with the schedule must be kept to an absolute minimum during the rehearsal process. No conflicts will be accepted during dress / tech week (1/6 – 1/10).

PRODUCTION DATES:
January 11th – 20th
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm
Sundays at 2:00pm

SYNOPSIS:
Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that'll have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock" and "Don't Be Cruel."

CASTING INFORMATION:
NATALIE HALLER (Early 20's): a mechanic.

CHAD: a great-lookin', motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout.

JIM HALLER (mid 40's-50's): Natalie's widowed father.

SYLVIA (mid 40's): the no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA'S HONKY-TONK.

LORRAINE: Sylvia's 16 year-old daughter.

DENNIS: a young, awkward, aspiring dentist.

MISS SANDRA: the beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town's museum.

MAYOR MATILDA HYDE (mid 40's-50's): the town's conservative mayor.

DEAN HYDE: Matilda's 16 year-old son. He has grown up at a military boarding school.

SHERIFF EARL (mid 40's-50's): the law in town. A man of not many words.
