Over 100 students, from 14 Kansas City High Schools, wrote over 500 theatrical reviews, in preparation for nominating over 200 students for 38 award categories, which will be presented this Saturday, at the 10th Annual Kansas City Cappies Gala!
The Kansas City Cappies works with high school theatre students all over the metro area; cultivating their writing skills, improving their critical analysis abilities, and honoring their talents and skills in and on their school plays and musicals.
The Kansas City Cappies recognizes these outstanding students in 38 different categories, which include acting, singing, dancing, musicianship, writing, and every technical category theatre affords.
Cappies Critics came from schools from North Kansas City to Harrisonville, to vote on May 1st in Lee's Summit, the results were authenticated by Burrington & Starkey CPA in Belton, and the ceremony, including performances from the top Play and Musical category nominees, will be held in Blue Springs.
