A MODERN ADAPTATION by Stephen Bardell*

Performances: September 20th thru October 6th, 2012

ALL ROLES OPEN (except Harpagon)

We are looking for 7 men (3 doubling) and 4 women who play between the ages of 20 and 60:
Cleante, 20s-early 30s, son of Harpagon, in love with Marianne
Valere, late 20s-30s, son of Anselm, in love with Elise, steward to Harpagon
Jacques, 30s-40s, Harpagon's cook and coachman; La Fleche, 20s-30s, Cleante's valet
The Constable, 40s-50s, an agent of the law; La Merluche, servant to Harpagon
The Clerk, 20s-30s, assistant to The Constable; Brindavoine, servant to Harpagon
Anselm, 60s, father of Valere and Marianne; Simon, 40s, a broker
Elise, 20s, daughter of Harpagon, in love with Valere
Marianne, 20s-early 30s, daughter of Anselm, in love with Cleante, and courted by Harpagon
Frosine, 30s-50s, a woman who lives by her wits; Dame Claude, 20S-80s, servant to Harpagon; also ASM

THE THEATRE GYM IS A PROFESSIONAL COMPANY: ALL ACTORS WILL BE PAID.

Audition Times:
2:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012
7:00pm to 9:30pm on Monday, June 11, 2012
At Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Westport Road, KCMO 64111
The church is located one block east of State Line on Westport Road. People can park either on Westport Road in front of the church or in the parking lot at Westport and Bell, just west of the church.

AUDITIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
Auditions will consist of readings from the script.
Read the play before coming, please.
If you have a 1-2 minute comedy monologue, the director is interested in hearing it.
