Ice Cream Social . . . Issues, a new comedy by Natalie Liccardello (Pies From the Porn Kitchen) and Talia Liccardello, will premiere with 5 performances during the 2012 KC Fringe Festival, July 19 – 29.
An ice cream social in a church basement is actually a disguised intervention for a family member who is a heroin addict. As the extended family gathers, their complicated – and comic – relationships take priority over the intervention. Directed by Warren Deckert.
There are roles for 7 non-Equity actors, as follows:
2 women, mid 20's
3 women, 40-50
1 man, 20's (small part, minimal rehearsal time)
1 man, 70's
All actors will receive a guaranteed performance wage plus a share of any net profit.
Auditions will be scheduled by appointment only on Saturday, April 28 between 10:00 am and 7:30 pm (15 minutes duration per actor). Auditions will be held in Room 122 of Grant Hall on the UMKC campus, 5228 Charlotte.
A two minute or less monologue is welcome but not required. Actors will also be asked to perform cold readings from the script. Current resume encouraged. Headshot/photograph if available.
Bring a complete list of conflicts during the primary rehearsal/performance period of June 12 – July 29. (Rehearsals will be on weekday evenings and/or Saturday afternoons – limit 3/week)
