The Story:

Not to be confused with the Broadway musical and film of Dreamgirls, our production, written by Elmer Rice, is set in 1945. The central character, Georgina Allerton, is bright, intelligent and college educated. She co-owns a bookstore with her friend, Claire. She has even written a book. In spite of all this, Georgina spends a great deal of her waking hours daydreaming of the life she feels she should be living. A little like Walter Mitty before her and a role model for the Ally McBeal character that succeeds her, Georgina lives her life in and out of reality. Only in this case, she manages it all in one day.

A wonderful romantic comedy featuring music by Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Hoagy Carmicheal and many more.

A smart play for smart people. You are surely one of them . . . aren't you?
