Local Comedians Give Insights and Hurl Insults at Super Mario Bros.
The Movie June 20th at the Westport Coffeehouse Theater
Dale Maxfield of Cinemasochists.com and Friends Riff The Mario
Movie
Kansas City, MO, June 8th, 2014 - A new type of live movie riff
comes to Kansas City, courtesy of Foster Child Entertainment.
FCE is producing a live movie riff featuring local improviser and
comedian Dale Maxfield and his team of movie riffers.
Their goal? Tear the atrociously wonderful 1993 film featuring Bob
Hoskins, Dennis Hopper, and John Leguizamo to shreds while
providing some insight into why this movie is so terrible.
Similar to Mystery Science Theater or the Benson Interruption, this
show will feature comedians watching a live screening of a film and
adding some occasional commentary. Maxfield has a unique code
when it comes to his riffs, "If the film is rated R, the riff will be rated
R. For Super Mario, it is a PG film, so this riff will be PG rated." Bad
movie lovers of all ages are encouraged to come out to this event
and enjoy the entertainment and the food and drinks available from
Green Room Burgers and Beer, attached to the theater.
Film and show rating: PG. Open to all ages.
Doors open at 7:30pm
Food and drink available from Green Room Burgers and Beer in the
theater.
$10 regular / $5- students, children, people in a Mario costume.
