Orange Is the New Black Star in KC

KANSAS CITY, MO – Barbara Rosenblat, one of the
stars of the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New
Black will be among the special guests when the
comedy show Right Between the Ears presents a live
performance at Community Christian Church, 4601
Main in Kansas City, MO -- Saturday, June 21 at
7:30pm, part of the 2014 Hear NOW Festival.

Rosenblat plays Miss Rosa in the Peabody award-
winning comedy-drama about life in a women's
prison. With over 400 audiobooks to her credit,
she was recently named one of Audiofile Magazine's
"Golden Voices". She's appeared in London's West
End theatre, worked for the BBC, British film and
television and performed on Broadway in the Tony
Award-winning musical The Secret Garden and the
critically acclaimed revival of Eric Bogosian's
Talk Radio starring Liev Schrieber. On TV,
Barbara has appeared in Law and Order SVU, Tales
of the Unexpected and The Guiding Light; her film
credits include Haunted Honeymoon, Little Shop of
Horrors and Reds.

Also joining the RBTE cast for the June 21 show is
Audie Award-winning actor Simon Vance. Named a
"Golden Voice" by Audiofile Magazine and a "Voice
of Choice" by Booklist Magazine, Vance just
received two 2014 Audie Awards for his work on the
audiobooks The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence
Anthony and The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir
Arthur Conan Doyle. Vance was a newsreader and
presenter for BBC Radio 4 (where he appeared on
several BBC sketch comedy shows) before moving to
the U.S. Called "the gold standard of narrators"
by author Neal Gaiman, he has recorded more than
700 audiobooks. On TV, Simon has appeared in
Criminal Minds, Nash Bridges and The Evidence.

The Hear NOW Festival is the audio equivalent of a
film festival for contemporary storytelling in all
its forms: classic radio theatre, audiobooks,
experimental narrative and more. The four-day
festival, June 19-22, will offer numerous live and
recorded performances at venues throughout Kansas
City.

the Gold Medal as Best Comedy Show at the New York
Festivals plus four Corporation for Public
