Mystery and Intrigue hits Kansas City
The first round of auditions has been amazing! We are offering extended auditions this Saturday for people who were unable to attend or schedule an appointment. We've been seeing people back-to-back and the talent has been some of the best I've seen.
Merry BanD Productions, LLC., a Kansas City-based company specializing in video production and stunt services, is preparing to shoot their debut feature film, an original story inspired by the Cold War spy films of the 60s. It's a little of the original Bond, (James Bond), Harry Palmer, Derek Flint and Matt Helm, updated to a modern setting.
The story, co-authored by Richard Buswell, Alex Paxton and Jonathan Love, is filled with enough twists, turns and reversals that will keep audiences guessing until the final moments of the film.
Reactions among readers of the script have been consistent with comments like,
• "I kept wondering what's going to happen next?" and
• "I couldn't put it down," or "I kept trying to put it down, but I kept having to pick it up again," and
• "I thought I knew how it was going to end. I was wrong," and
• "I'm the type of person who can tell in the first ten minutes where the story is going. I couldn't do that with this script."
Directed by Richard Buswell. The spy thriller, "Order 86" is currently in preproduction with shooting scheduled to start in late February.
Auditions for cast are scheduled as follows:
• January 30, 10-1pm, Westport Branch Library at 118 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111
Callbacks will be scheduled for February 1 and 2.
They are looking for men and women to fill over 45 roles. This is a locally-produced feature film and we are offering deferred payment for all participants. Auditioners should bring a resume, a headshot, and prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary dramatic monologue. There will also be cold readings from the script. Email info@order86movie.com to schedule a time. Walk-ins are also welcome, but will have to wait for available openings in the schedule.
Anyone interested in doing some simple stunt work should also apply. Again, email info@order86movie.com to schedule an interview.
Shooting is tentatively scheduled to start the last week of February and will run through the end of June. Mostly weekends and some weekday evenings.
For further information and updates, please visit our website at www.order86movie.com or like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.

Directed by Tina Morrison
This original play by Kansas City native Robert
Flaherty Hart takes place in suburban St.

as three adult siblings navigate their changing
relationships and uncertain futures. When one

will it soothe old wounds and lead to
forgiveness or drive a permanent wedge into
already shaky bonds?

Mystery and Intrigue hits Kansas City
• January 23, 12-3pm, Plaza Branch Library at 4801 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64112
• January 24, 1-4pm, Plaza Branch Library at 4801 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64112
• January 25, 7-10pm, Westport Coffee House back room, 4010 Pennsylvania Ave, 64111

Charlotte Bronte's great love story comes to life with music to lift your heart and set your spirit soaring. This beloved tale of secrets and the lies that secrets create, of unimaginable hope and unspoken passion, reminds us what it is to fall deeply, truly and completely in love. Nominated for five Tony Awards, Jane Eyre explores religion, sexuality and protofeminism, all while enchanting audiences with a timeless love story.
Jane's story begins in Gateshead, where she is in the unfortunate care of her cruel Aunt Sarah and cousin John, as per her uncle's dying wish. The miserable young orphan is finally rescued when she is sent away to attend Lowood School for Girls. After six years, Jane leaves Lowood and is shortly after hired as a governess at Thornfield Hall. Here she meets Mr. Edward Rochester, thus beginning her passionate and heart wrenching journey of love, loss and the struggles of morality.

In this riotously funny Southern-fried comedy, the three Verdeen cousins—Gaynelle, Peaches, and Jimmie Wyvette—could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion. Their outrageous antics have delighted local gossips in the small town of Sweetgum (just down the road from Fayro) and the eyes of Texas are upon them, as their self-righteous Aunt LaMerle is quick to point out. Having "accidentally" crashed her minivan through the bedroom wall of her husband's girlfriend's doublewide.
Gaynelle is one frazzled nerve away from a spectacular meltdown. Peaches, a saucy firebrand and the number one mortuarial cosmetologist in the tri-county area, is struggling to decide if it's time to have her long-absent trucker husband declared dead. And Jimmie Wyvette, the rough-around-the-edges store manager of Whatley's Western Wear, is resorting to extreme measures to outmaneuver a priss-pot neighbor for the affections of Sweetgum's newest widower. But the cousins can't back out of the reunion now.
It's on, Gaynelle's hosting it, and Peaches and Jimmie Wyvette have decided that its success is the perfect way to prove Gaynelle's sanity to a skeptical court-appointed psychologist.
Unfortunately, they face an uphill battle as a parade of wildly eccentric Verdeens gathers on the hottest day of July, smack-dab in the middle of Texas tornado season. Things spin hilariously out of control when a neighbor's pet devours everything edible, a one-eyed suitor shows up to declare his love, and a jaw-dropping high-stakes wager is made on who bakes the best red velvet cake.
As this fast-paced romp barrels toward its uproarious climax, you'll wish your own family reunions were this much fun!
