DETAILS:
On Saturday, September 12th, Dance in the Park will once again present a thrilling evening of fun and excitement with performances by professional dancers of all kinds from the Kansas City vicinity on an outdoor stage in Roanoke Park.

Now in its 17th year, Dance in the Park reflects the cultural vitality and diversity of the Kansas City region and this year the concert will feature local dance companies in the genres of Modern, Ballet, Swing, Salsa, Irish, Mexican, and Vietnamese dancing, including a Lion dance.

Besides City in Motion Dance Theater and the City in Motion Children's Dance Theater & Apprentice Company, participating companies include these returning groups: the Kansas City Ballet Second Company, and the Driscoll Dancers (Irish). This year, two brand new modern dance companies will join us: Defy Dance Project and Heartlines Dance Company. Also new are 627 Stomp (swing), KCTouch (salsa), Danza Mexica Calpulli Iskali, and the GDPT Pho Hien Lion Dance Troupe.

This family-friendly event is a collaboration of neighborhoods, businesses, performers and volunteers, who are always needed. Please contact City in Motion to sign up.

Arrive early to participate in the free dance class at 6:30 and to get a good seat.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, a picnic, and the whole family! Sorry, no pets allowed.
