Poetry Workshop 2PM to 5PM
Cost $15 also gets you into the Open Mic/Slam event afterwards.
Open Mic Night 6:00 PM with a $5 admission
The Alcott is excited to have several poets teach the Art of Poetry in a workshop.
Instructors include:
Tyler Shay: performed for the Midwest Word Fest and was a Featured poet for 2016 Clandestine Poetry.
Samantha Slupski: hosts for Clandestine Poetry, was a Midwest Word Fest performer, a Lawrence Poetry Slam winner in April, is Competing in the Texas Grand Slam Poetry Festival in the last week of September, and has performed in gallery openings across town. samanthaslupskipoetry.com
Fredrick Sims: a three time winner of the Kansas City Poetry Slam. Has performed at Midwest Word Fest, P4CM Poetry Slam and with Nate Nall Jazz Quintet. www.fredricsims.com
Gemma Campanini: of "Oh Snap" Poetry Open Mic which is currently in it's second year in The Lake of the Ozarks

Noah Weaver: Winner of the "Micro Slam at the Midwest Word Fest"
Come out and get your chance to get up on stage!
This workshop is open to anyone 13 and up who is interested in picking up a pen and paper or bringing a laptop/phone and sharing their voice. This workshop will go from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Cost $15 also gets you into the Open Mic/Slam event afterwards.
