AUDITIONS:
Wednesday, October 12th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Saturday, October 15th from Noon – 3:00pm
At St. Pius School
55th and Woodson, Mission, KS


EXPECTATION and PREPARATION:
Seeking a multi-ethnic cast of students in grades 7-12.

Auditions will be an open call both days. All auditioning
students must bring a digital music device with an
accompaniment track for their audition.  This track should
have no vocals.  Any device with a standard headphone
jack (such as most phones, MP3 players, iPads, etc.) will
work.  There will not be an accompanist provided.  You
can begin the track at any point in the song, and simply
tell the audition staff when to stop playing it.  The
audition facility does not have WiFi, so do not plan on
streaming your accompaniment track from a source such
as YouTube.
Please Provide: Resumes are suggested, if available. 
Please bring a current photo—this can be a professional
headshot, but a current school photo works just as well. 
Come dressed to move, as there will be a
dance/movement exercise.  Formal dance training is NOT
a requirement!  There may be cold readings from the
script as well.
Rehearsals will begin with a cast and family meeting in
early November
The typical weekly rehearsal schedule will be Sunday
through Thursday night from 7 – 10pm. Conflicts with the
schedule must be kept to an absolute minimum during
the rehearsal process. No conflicts will be accepted
during dress / tech week (1/8 – 1/12).


PRODUCTION DATES:
January 13th – 22nd
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm
Sundays at 2:00pm

SYNOPSIS:
Josh Baskin is sick of being an awkward kid. At a carnival,
he makes a wish to the Zoltar machine to become "big".
To his shock, his wish is granted. After an understandably
awkward beginning, Josh is forced to do "adult" things
like getting a job and a girlfriend. In the end he discovers
there's much more to being an adult than he's bargained
for, and learns we must all grow up at our own pace, in
our own time.

CASTING INFORMATION:
Josh Baskin: Male - the story's protagonist; he has the
mind, spirit, and innocence of a 13-year-old trapped in
the body of a 30-year-old; tenor.

Young Josh Baskin: Male, obscure, seventh grade pre-
teen who is frustrated by his parents and his age;
unchanged voice.

Billy Kopecki: Male, Josh's best and most supportive
friend; he is funny, optimistic, inventive, and encouraging;
unchanged voice.

Mrs. Baskin: Female, Josh's frustrated, protective, and
loving mother who is struggling with parenting a pre-
teen; mezzo soprano with belt.

George MacMillan: Male, the owner of the MacMillan Toy
Company, who is fighting to save his company;
distinguished and intimidating with a playful side
underneath; spry and unpredictable, a powerful man who
knows how to keep people on edge; also plays Zoltar, the
devilish voice in an arcade game; bari-tenor.

Susan Lawrence: Female, the attractive, business-
oriented Vice President of Marketing at MacMillan Toy
Company; smart, driven, and manipulative, she discovers
her inner, secret, giddy school-girl innocence; she
eventually falls for Josh; mezzo soprano with belt.
