The Billie Mahoney Dance Troupe will be presented in the Rotunda of Union Station Kansas City Inc. on Sunday, December 7, 2014, from 2:00 - 3:30.
The Billie Mahoney Dance Troupe, which was formed in the late '90's, consists of tap dancers over the age of fifty and is directed and choreographed by Billie Mahoney. Billie was identified by Gregory Hines at the Folly Theater in the year 2000, as "a legend in tap dance". Dancers from her classes at the Kansas City Ballet Todd Bolender Center and The City in Motion School of Dance, will join in a special number in the memory of Pearl Harbor Day. The Troupe will also present a tribute to Union Station's 100th Anniversary with "Choo Choo Ch Boogie"!
Dance companies from the City in Motion Studio have been invited to participate and World Dance will be demonstrated by Ole performing Flamenco, Nikoria with Mid-Eastern Dance, and African Dance by Ayotunde Productions. In addition, Bobby Ray will remember "Mr. Bojangles" with his Hip Hop Dancers!
The performance will conclude with a joyous introduction to the Christmas Season.
