Directors

For
Our 59th consecutive exciting season
of plays and musicals.



PROCESS:
Submit a letter of application to The Barn Players, along with your resume. Please indicate your choice of show in the application letter, include your vision for the production and your reasons for applying for that particular show. In addition, please include a second show that you would like us to consider during the interview process.

An interview will then be scheduled with the Artistic Director, the Assistant Artistic Director and one other members of The Barn board of directors

DEADLINE TO APPLY: July 15th, 2013

INTERVIEWS: Will be scheduled from July 22 – August 9, 2013, by appointment only.

Directors will be announced following the August 10th board meeting.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON February 28 – March 16

Doors slamming, onstage and backstage intrigue, and errant sardines all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play.


HAIR September 19 – October 5

Lyrics & Book by Gerome Ragni & James Rado
This classic rock musical tells the story of Vietnam-era youths awkwardly but exuberantly creating their own rite of passage through the confusion around them. With themes of alienation and civil disobedience Hair illustrates the '60s generation's search for meaning through various "be-ins," "love-ins" and protests. Phenomenal musical numbers include Aquarius, Good Morning Starshine, Hair, I Got Life, Let The Sunshine In and Easy To Be Hard.


LA CAGE AUX FOLLES November 7 - 23
Music & Lyrics by Jerry Herman RATED PG
Book by Harvey Fierstein
After twenty years of un-wedded bliss Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better-or-worse get a bit of both when Georges' son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician. Further complicating the situation is the 'family business': Albin and Georges run a transvestite nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the "star" performer 'Zaza'. When Anne's parents want to come and meet Jean-Michel's mother and father, chaos ensues.
