Dangerous To Dance With by KC Playwright Bill Rogers at KC Fringe Festival
SEX, GREED, AND SELF-DECEPTION!
VICTOR RAIDER-WEXLER STARS IN DANGEROUS TO DANCE WITH AT
THE KANSAS CITY FRINGE FESTIVAL
Martin Tanner Productions presents veteran stage, screen, and
television actor Victor Raider-Wexler in the world première of
Kansas City playwright Bill Rogers' new dark comedy at Off-Center
Theatre during this year's Kansas City Fringe Festival.
In Dangerous To Dance With, a paranoid playwright, a broken
acrobat, a porn star, a neurotic farmer, and a plumber, who may be
a hit man, meet in a secluded Missouri farmhouse. Together they
face one of life's most pressing questions: should they laugh or
should they die?
Dangerous To Dance With Cast:
-Victor Raider-Wexler* (HARRIS STEPP) had recurring roles on
television in Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of
Queens, and Two Guys and a Girl. Law and Order, Friends, House,
Boston Legal, and Married With Children are a few of his many TV
guest appearances. He appeared on Broadway in Ma Rainey's Black
Bottom and Gypsy and on the big screen in Pursuit of Happyness
and Minority Report. Victor has appeared with the Kansas City
Actors' Theatre (The Real Inspector Hound, The Mousetrap, The
Seafarer, and Glengarry Glen Ross) and at the New Theatre
Restaurant (Harvey). He plans to return to the New Theatre this
August in Murder Among Friends starring Morgan Fairchild.
-Jim Hopkins* (JOE) As a resident member of the Cincinnati
Shakespeare Company, Jim has displayed his talents in roles as
diverse as Lennie in Of Mice and Men, Henry IV in Henry IV parts 1
and 2, Van Helsing in Dracula, and Lady Bracknell in The
Importance of Being Earnest. He has also appeared at the
Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Great Plains Theatre, and on
many other stages around the country.
-Vincent Monachino* (IRWIN STRATEMEYER) has appeared as Big
Jule in Guys and Dolls at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre and as
the sheriff in Batboy at the Unicorn Theatre. He has also appeared
locally at Starlight Theater, Quality Hill Playhouse, and American
Heartland Theatre. He has three motion picture credits including
Saving Grace B. Jones, written and directed by Connie Stevens.
-Kelsea McLean (JILL) was named "Best Local Actress" by the Pitch in
2012. She has appeared in Marvelous Wonderettes at the Maples
Repertory Theatre and in Run For Your Wife at Great Plains Theatre.
She has entertained local audiences with performances at the Living
Room, The American Heartland Theatre, and TYA.
-Coleman Crenshaw's (NICK) scintillating acting talents are well
known to local audiences for his work at the Coterie (Number the
Stars, Bridge to Terabithia), the MET (The Seagull, The Kentucky
Cycle, Rules for Widows, Enchanted April, Awake and Sing!), and for
a variety of roles at The Fishtank, The Living Room, Melting Pot KC,
and TYA.

The Director: Diane Bulan is a professional actor. She has appeared
in numerous commercials, films and industrials, and is a member of
SAG. She is also an acting coach, puppeteer, electrician and stage

for Caldwell's Bomb in 2011. Other recent directing credits:

America included Caldwell's Bomb in its Friday Night Footlights Play
Reading Series in New York City in 2012), and Death and the
Publican.
Bill wrote the book and lyrics for the new musical, Wild and Willful
Women. Kansas City musician Daniel Doss composed the music.

Unlimited's TRU Voices Musicals Reading Series and was performed
by a Broadway cast in front of a full house at the Baruch Performing

Gidion's Knot
Phoenix KC Theatre
As part of the 2014 Kansas City Fringe Festival, Phoenix KC Theatre will present the Kansas City premiere of Gidion's Knot by Johnna Adams, at Just Off Broadway Theatre, 3051 Penn Valley Drive.

Gidion's Knot was one of the highlights of the 2012 Contemporary American Theatre Festival. Over the course of a parent/teacher conference, a grieving mother and an elementary school teacher attempt to discover the truth behind the suicide of the mother's son, Gidion. Gidion's Knot is an intense play with content at times dark and disturbing. Recommended for adult audiences. Starring Vanessa Harper and Ellen DeShon. Directed by Warren Deckert.
Tickets are $10.00 with a Fringe Festival button, available at the venue or from www.kcfringe.org

Kiss Me, Kate is a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane, the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul with some gangsters.
