For Slater Penney, variety is the spice of life. He is a national and international award winning performing artist, choreographer and instructor, his biggest award being an Emmy in 2001 for work as a motion capture specialist with Tech TV.
He graduated from UC Santa Cruz in the Theatre Arts, studied circus in San Francisco and Oakland, and furthered his professional training at the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre. Slater has performed and toured with Gamelan X, Make*A*Circus, Lunatique Fantastique, and The Crucible's Fire Operas. He has two devised
works of physical theatre: "Le Projet Migration," with his wife Christine Germain, and "The Submarine Show," with Jaron Hollander. He's excelled as a teacher, including the San Francisco Circus Center, Marin Theatre Company, the Berkeley Rep school of Theatre, and the Kinetic Arts Center in his credits. He is now Preschool Director at Luna Gymnastics, offers classes and private lessons at the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, and performs as often as is
possible.

Dangerous To Dance With by KC Playwright Bill Rogers at KC Fringe Festival

SEX, GREED, AND SELF-DECEPTION!
VICTOR RAIDER-WEXLER STARS IN DANGEROUS TO DANCE WITH AT
THE KANSAS CITY FRINGE FESTIVAL

Martin Tanner Productions presents veteran stage, screen, and
television actor Victor Raider-Wexler
(www.imdb.com/name/nm0706838/) in the world première of
Kansas City playwright Bill Rogers' new dark comedy at Off-Center
Theatre during this year's Kansas City Fringe Festival.

In Dangerous To Dance With, a paranoid playwright, a broken
acrobat, a porn star, a neurotic farmer, and a plumber, who may be
a hit man, meet in a secluded Missouri farmhouse. Together they
face one of life's most pressing questions: should they laugh or
should they die?

Dangerous To Dance With Cast:
-Victor Raider-Wexler* (HARRIS STEPP)
(www.imdb.com/name/nm0706838/) had recurring roles on
television in Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of
Queens, and Two Guys and a Girl. Law and Order, Friends, House,
Boston Legal, and Married With Children are a few of his many TV
guest appearances. He appeared on Broadway in Ma Rainey's Black
Bottom and Gypsy and on the big screen in Pursuit of Happyness
and Minority Report. Victor has appeared with the Kansas City
Actors' Theatre (The Real Inspector Hound, The Mousetrap, The
Seafarer, and Glengarry Glen Ross) and at the New Theatre
Restaurant (Harvey). He plans to return to the New Theatre this
August in Murder Among Friends starring Morgan Fairchild.

-Jim Hopkins* (JOE) As a resident member of the Cincinnati
Shakespeare Company, Jim has displayed his talents in roles as
diverse as Lennie in Of Mice and Men, Henry IV in Henry IV parts 1
and 2, Van Helsing in Dracula, and Lady Bracknell in The
Importance of Being Earnest. He has also appeared at the
Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Great Plains Theatre, and on
many other stages around the country.

-Vincent Monachino* (IRWIN STRATEMEYER) has appeared as Big
Jule in Guys and Dolls at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre and as
the sheriff in Batboy at the Unicorn Theatre. He has also appeared
locally at Starlight Theater, Quality Hill Playhouse, and American
Heartland Theatre. He has three motion picture credits including
Saving Grace B. Jones, written and directed by Connie Stevens.

-Kelsea McLean (JILL) was named "Best Local Actress" by the Pitch in
2012. She has appeared in Marvelous Wonderettes at the Maples
Repertory Theatre and in Run For Your Wife at Great Plains Theatre.
She has entertained local audiences with performances at the Living
Room, The American Heartland Theatre, and TYA.

-Coleman Crenshaw's (NICK) scintillating acting talents are well
known to local audiences for his work at the Coterie (Number the
Stars, Bridge to Terabithia), the MET (The Seagull, The Kentucky
Cycle, Rules for Widows, Enchanted April, Awake and Sing!), and for
a variety of roles at The Fishtank, The Living Room, Melting Pot KC,
and TYA.

*These actors are appearing courtesy of the Actors Equity
Association.

The Director: Diane Bulan is a professional actor. She has appeared
in numerous commercials, films and industrials, and is a member of
SAG. She is also an acting coach, puppeteer, electrician and stage
manager.

This is the third time Diane has worked with Bill Rogers. She
directed Death and the Publican in 2010 and was assistant director
for Caldwell's Bomb in 2011. Other recent directing credits:
Cinderella Kids (Barn Players), St. Nicholas (Jughead Theatricals),
scenes from Playboy of the Western World and Plough and the Stars
for the Gaelic Revival at the Irish Center, 24-Hour Play Festivals
(William Inge Center), readings of A Body of Water, Art, and Visions
of Right (Martin Tanner Productions). Up next: Diane will direct
Don't Talk to the Actors, opening in September at Paradise
Playhouse.

The Playwright: Five of Bill Rogers' plays have been produced in
Kansas City: Collisions (the highest rated show in KC during 2008
according to KCSTAGE Magazine), Broken Strings (Finalist in The
Beverly Hills Theatre Guild-Julie Harris Playwright Award
competition), Breaking the Trust (winner of Rockhurst University's
Plays in Progress Competition), Caldwell's Bomb (Audience Choice
Award winner at the 1st Playwriting Festival of the Missouri
Association of Community Theatres. The Dramatists Guild of
America included Caldwell's Bomb in its Friday Night Footlights Play
Reading Series in New York City in 2012), and Death and the
Publican.

Bill wrote the book and lyrics for the new musical, Wild and Willful
Women. Kansas City musician Daniel Doss composed the music.

A Master Class in Clown: Skill Integration with The Submarine Show

Byrd Productions in collaboration with the Kansas City Fringe Festival is delighted to present:

A Master Class in Clown: Skill Integration with The Submarine Show

Can you burp the alphabet, sing opera, play the kazoo, decorate a cake, solve a rubics cube, fold a paper crane,
dance ballet on point, stand on one hand, or make fart sounds in your arm pit?
Any skill can be a vehicle for narrative.

This master class in physical theatre, lead by former Cirque du Soleil performer Jaron Hollander
and Emmy Award winner Slater Penney, explores how tricks and narrative can be combined
to create truly virtuosic performances.

At the Just Off Broadway Theater,
3051 Central, KCMO 64108
10:00 - noon
Saturday, July 26th
$30 - Get your tickets at www.byrdproductions.org

Jaron Hollander, International Circus Artist and native to the east bay, has many titles including Clown, Acrobat,
Aerialist, Actor, Director, Coach, Master Teacher and Artistic Director. Jaron has been performing professionally for
32 years, a fact that is even more impressive considering he is only 40 years old. He has spent the interim time
performing around the world with many companies including Cirque Du Soleil, Make*A*Circus and Flynn Creek
Circus. He has made quite a mark in Northern California's performing arts scene as a Co-founder of both Berkeley's
Impact Theatre and Mendocino's Flynn Creek Circus. Jaron is known as an accomplished teacher having taught
theatre and circus arts all over the bay area at well known schools including the Clown Conservatory, Cal Shakes and
Berkeley Repertory's Theatre School, Sacramento Theatre Company and Splash Circus just to name a few.

For Slater Penney, variety is the spice of life. He is a national and international award winning performing artist,
choreographer and instructor, his biggest award being an Emmy in 2001 for work as a motion capture specialist with
Tech TV. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz in the Theatre Arts, studied circus in San Francisco and Oakland, and
furthered his professional training at the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre. Slater has performed and
toured with Gamelan X, Make*A*Circus, Lunatique Fantastique, and The Crucible's Fire Operas. He has two devised
works of physical theatre: "Le Projet Migration," with his wife Christine Germain, and "The Submarine Show," with
Jaron Hollander. He's excelled as a teacher, including the San Francisco Circus Center, Marin Theatre Company, the
Berkeley Rep school of Theatre, and the Kinetic Arts Center in his credits. He is now Preschool Director at Luna
Gymnastics, offers classes and private lessons at the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, and performs as often as is
possible.

Announcing Season 26

BLUEBARN Theatre Announces Year 26: Season of the
DIG!

The BLUEBARN Theatre is excited to announce its
26th season. This will be the final season in the
current space at 614 S. 11th Street before moving
to the new theater at 10th and Pacific. The
BLUEBARN broke ground on June 23rd and will be
moving into its own home for the 2015-2016 season.

The BLUEBARN Theatre is proud to present its 26th
Season:

AMERICAN BUFFALO
By David Mamet (October 2-25, 2014)
In a Chicago junk shop three small time crooks
plot to rob a man of his coin collection, the
showpiece of which is a valuable "Buffalo nickel".
These high-minded grifters fancy themselves
businessmen pursuing legitimate free enterprise,
but the reality of the trio is that they are
merely pawns caught up in their own game
of last-chance, dead-end, empty pipe dreams.
Mamet's gritty drama was produced in the
BLUEBARN's inaugural 1989-1990 season.

EVERY CHRISTMAS STORY EVER TOLD (and then Some!)
By Michael Carleton, James Fitzgerald, and John K.
Alvarez (November 28-December 21, 2014)
Sponsored by Omaha Steaks

They're Back! Theresa Sindelar, Ben Beck, and Bill
Grennan reprise their hilarious characters in this
fast, fond, and furious look at the holiday
traditions we all remember, and a few we'd like to
forget! From Tiny Tim to the Grinch, from Frosty
to It's a Wonderful Life, nothing is spared in
this rollicking tour de farce!

BLUEBARN SPECIAL EVENT:
STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS
By Mo Gaffney, Jordan Harrison, Moises Kaufman,
Neil Labute, Wendy MacLeod, Jose Rivera, Paul
Rudnick, and Doug Wright (January 8-10, 2015)
Two little words, and suddenly your whole world
changes. An A-list lineup of writers offers unique
takes on the moments before, during and after "I
do." Witty, warm and occasionally wacky, these
plays are vows to the blessings of equality, the
universal challenges of relationships and the
often hilarious power of love."CEREMONY puts a
human face on a hot-button issue and delivers
laughter and tears rather than
propaganda." —BackStage.

BAD JEWS
By Joshua Elias Harmon (February 19-March 14,
2015) – Regional Premiere
Described as a comedy about the holy and the
holier-than-thou, Bad Jews is the story of Daphna
Feygenbaum, a "Real Jew" with an Israeli boyfriend
she met on a Birthright tour. When Daphna's cousin
Liam brings home his shiksa girlfriend Melody and
declares ownership of their grandfather's Chai
necklace, a vicious and hilarious brawl over
family, faith, and legacy ensues.

OUR TOWN
By Thornton Wilder (May 7-June 7, 2015) – Winner
1938 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
"While all of Wilder's work is intelligent, non-
synthetic and often moving, as well as funny, it
is Our Town that makes the difference. It is
probably the finest play ever written by an
American." —Edward Albee
Day in and day out, Grover's Corners is Any Town,
USA. The paper is delivered, the milkman visits,
time passes and life continues. It is only when
such routines are interrupted that the fleeting
beauty of the everyday is brought more clearly
into perspective. Join us as the Stage Manager
guides us through this elegant portrait of the
ordinary but remarkable joys and sorrows that
define our lives. Our Town is the best
American play celebrating the magic that makes a
community.
